Jigga gives the NYPL a sneak peek into his upcoming memoir, ‘Decoded.’

Jay-Z is finally gearing up to release his biographical book Decoded. He teamed up with former The Source editor Dream Hampton to write the memoir, which combines an autobiographical first-person style with interviews from close friends and family. The book will also include his explanation to lyrics of selected tracks.

Jigga is now scheduled to discuss the memoir at the New York Public Library in November. While the book was completed several years ago, it is only now that he is ready to share it with audiences, despite his reservations.

“It’s too much,” he told Rolling Stone. “For the book, I was interviewed, people close to me were interviewed. So I was learning a lot of things I didn’t know as a child. It’s not anything I haven’t said in the past, in songs. It’s just more detailed. A song is three minutes long. A book doesn’t have to rhyme, and it has no time limit, so you can say exactly how everything went.”

The NYPL discussion will take place on Nov. 15, and the book is set to release the next day.

Something About Faith, her fifth studio LP and first since her ‘05 joint The First Lady, has already spawned the Snoop Dogg-assisted single “Way You Move” and, in anticipation of the release, the songstress has released a video promo showing behind-the-scenes footage of her album photo shoot.

On Thursday (August 19) Drake told fans via UStream that he hoped to secure Wiz Khalifa for his upcoming Light Dreams and Nightmares tour. However, due to the fact that Khalifa’s Waken Baken tour begins at the same time, the Pittsburgh emcee had to decline.

“Just the fact of cuz even extending his hand and me being on his radar is tight, to me,” said Khalifa in a brief interview with XXLMag.com. “It just lets me know that I’m doin’ what I need to be doin’ as far as stayin’ relevant and stayin’ poppin’. But I think to keep me poppin’ and keep me relevant I gotta stay buildin’ on top of what I’m doin’ and what I been doin’. No disrespect to cuz or anybody else who might wanna see me do some more collaborative things, but to keep buildin’ and keep my brand as strong as what it is, I gotta keep focusin’ on what it is. This is my first tour that I got comin’ up, the Waken Baken tour, I gotta at least kick that off and make that it what it is so we can do ten more.”

Khalifa joked that when he could make $10 million off of touring like Drake reportedly did last year, he would go tour with him.

“I really want to meet him and chop it up with him,” said Wiz Khalifa of Drake. “I wanna meet him, chop it up, smoke one with him and who knows what could happen. But it’s all positive right now.”

The Waken Baken tour begins on September 16 at Philadelphia’s Trocadero Theatre.

Pastor Troy Gives some details on expanding his portfolio with ESPN.
With a 21-album discography, music has been an enormous part of Pastor Troy’s life. Now, the “Throw It Up” rapper is parlaying his recordings into a licensing deal with ESPN.

“I messed around with ESPN for football season for the show NFL Live,” revealed Troy in an interview with OzoneMag.com. “We got some licensing deals and stuff like that and that shit is stoopid! I’m just getting into all these endorsement deals and stuff, because rap is so big now you just gotta find your niche and keep grindin’ it out. That ESPN joint opened up a lot of doors though. So when you watchin’ Sportscenter and you hear that ‘Murder Man,’ don’t think your TV goin’ crazy, baby! It’s me!”

Pastor Troy revealed that he feels more at home with the sports industry than the Hip Hop world. “…I’m more into the sports industry than I am in the music industry. I ain’t got a lot of music industry friends, I got a lot of sports industry friends, so just hookin’ up with those boys we kickin’, trying to blow this shit out of proportion.”

DJ Khaled is officially a Cash Money millionaire. The boisterous dj announced the news Thursday (August 19) that he will join the likes of Lil Wayne, Cool & Dre, Bow Wow, and Bizzy Bone who recently revealed that he too was signing with the label. Khaled who has collaborated with both Lil Wayne and Cash Money labelhead Brian “Birdman” Williams, sent out a few celebratory tweets once the deal was finalized.

“Deal is done!! We the best YMCMB!!!” Khaled wrote via his Twitter page. “Hard work pays off! I’m on my way to the studio! We the best Cash Money! FREE WEEZY! WETHEBESTFOREVER coming soon!”

The 34-year-old who currently resides in Miami, has released four albums and has worked with Rick Ross, T-Pain, Drake and Usher. Once signed to E1 Entertainment/Koch Records, Khaled’s upcoming album ‘We The Best Forever,’ will mark his debut release on Cash Money. The album, due out sometime this year, will feature his fellow Cash Money counterparts Birdman and Cool & Dre, plus appearances from Rick Ross and Fat Joe.
