Earl Simmons (born December 18, 1970), better known by his stage name DMX (Dark Man X), is an American entertainer who rose to fame in the late 1990s. DMX may be rescued by addiction specialist Dr. Drew Pinsky, according to reports. DMX was busted for violating his probation by using cocaine. He was sent to jail on Tuesday (March 9th), where he is being held without bond until a hearing on March 16th. TMZ.com reports that DMX’s attorney Gary Jenkins was contacted by representatives for Celebrity Rehab, who may send a specialist to court in order to convince a judge to send him to rehab, instead of prison. Dr. Drew took the same steps with Jessica Sierra of American Idol fame.

Troubled rap star DMX has been placed in Arizona’s Tent City Jail lockdown after reportedly making verbal threats to corrections officers.

The former Def Jam artist initiallty refused to perform his assigned jailhouse work duty.

He was moved from Tent City to a solitary cell, where he will spend 23 hours a day, following a verbal altercation with Maricopa County Sheriff’s detention officers on Sunday (February 8). The rapper will likely remain for the next month, said Lt. Brian Lee, a sheriff’s spokesman. DMX was serving his 90-day sentence with more than 2,000 other inmates in Tent City until Sunday, when he refused to report for his designated job in the jail.
