A man of many talents Emeka Onyejekew, aka Mekka Don is a 26 year old lawyer in
New York City who graduated from NYU School of Law in 2006 and upon graduation worked as
an associate at a top law firm; then left his job to pursue a career in Hip Hop. While many
question his decision to leave corporate America to pursue his passion for music, Mekka Don
knew that he did not want to “become a slave to society”. He feels that "music is my calling. God
spoke to me and I listened." In some ways, the decision to rap can almost be seen as an extension
of his legal career. He says he wants to use his talents to inspire and change the world. That is
why it is no wonder why Mekka Don hails to be noted as one of the most influential hip hop artist
that our society has ever encountered.
On March 31st, 2008, Mekka Don released his first mixtape with world renowned DJ,
Mick Boogie. The mixtape, “Law and Order,” consists of twenty-three tracks, and the content
ranges from world politics to making money legally. When asked about his participation in "Law
and Order", Mick Boogie said, "I was skeptical at first. With the status of the music industry, I
thought he was crazy for leaving his prestigious job, but he's proven a lot to me and I'm extremely
excited to introduce his music and movement to the world." Prominent entertainment attorney L.

Mekka Don is the star of a reality series on Youtube entitled, The “Legal” Hustler. The
show follows his versatile life and inspirational story. In addition to being a lawyer and a rapper,
he is also a successful model, actor, published author, and entrepreneur. A typical day in the life
of Mekka Don can involve a fashion shoot, hitting a movie set, laying some tracks in the music
studio, and then hosting an event at night. Add in negotiating a contract or litigating a case for a
legal client and Mekka Don earns his additional moniker - The “Legal” Hustler. In just a month,
his show has received over fifteen thousand views and has been featured on numerous media
outlets. Mekka Don was featured in a national ad campaign for Jeep Wrangler in 2007, was
recently casted as a drummer in upcoming movie Cadillac Records, and also the subject of a
feature story in XXL Magazine’s 2008 July issue.
