Young, fresh, and fly is Cassie-Simone. A true artist indeed who plans to create a new respect for
pop culture. Cassie-Simone is mostly known for her collaboration on the Alpha Dog
Soundtrack's “Marco Polo”, written by the artist herself. She was also featured in an
independent film, Glorius, and various other production credits. But her list of talents and credits
doesn't end there. The half Filipino singer, songwriter and actress has been performing since the
tender age of 8 and grew up listening to a multitude of sounds from the likes of Filipino
Broadway Star Leo Salonga, to the smooth R&B sounds of Musiq Soulchild, Mary J. Blige, and
Aaliyah.
Cassie-Simone puts her pen game to use for herself this time and she is ready to emerge as a full
fled Pop/R&B artist, but notes, her music is definitely for a more mature crowd. “It took a while
before I started getting in to music that I felt really represented me” says, Cassie-Simone. “I don't
like doing the whole puppet thing, I like to write my own songs, I love to perform, but I don't do
anything that jeopardizes my moral character- so with me, you better believe what you hear and
what you see is all me!” When asked who she would compare herself to, she said no-one and
moved on to whom she would love to work with, Musiq Souldchild, and Neyo. As the
conversation went on you can clearly tell Cassie-Simone is the girl that definitely does not stand
in anyone’s shadow and is ready for a real heavy- weight fight! Expect a worldly combination of
Pop/R&B, live instruments, and a touch of Hip-Hop over smooth yet versatile vocals as super
producers Syanide, Ron.G, and Chi Duly lend a hand in Cassie-Simone's production.
Cassie-Simone, on the Swagg Radar; be sure to look out for her in the fall.
